Nick grew up on the streets of West Auckland as a New Zealand born Samoan. He mixed with the “wrong crowd” and despite being often on the wrong side of the law eventually join the Police as a career. He spent 25 years in the Police and has been honoured on numerous occasions for the ground breaking work he has done with “youth at risk”. He has launched many new initiatives for youth that have gone on to set the standards for others to work to.
In 1998 he received the Queens Service Medal for his contributions to the community and in 2000 was voted one of the top 100 New Zealanders’. He went on to become a “living legend in Auckland” in 2007.
Nick is a truly inspirational speaker who over many years has given a great deal to RYLA and all those who have attended.
